Selecting your crane truck

Key considerations
before hiring.

Discuss your site, load and hire dates.

1300 942 342
What lifting capacity and reach does my project require?

Provide the weight of the items you need to lift and the required lifting reach. Capacity varies with reach, so use the published crane capacity table as a starting point for your enquiry. Ask CST Hire to confirm the allocated crane and current load chart against your lifting requirements.

Is this 8×4 crane truck suitable for my site?

Describe the access route, surface conditions, gradients, clearances and available loading area. For projects across several sites, include the conditions at each location. This helps CST Hire assess whether the UD Quon rear mount configuration suits your transport and access requirements.

Is a 7 m tray suitable for my load?

The UD Quon data sheet lists a 7 m steel tray and a published payload of 12 t. Provide your load’s length, width, height and total weight, together with any loading or restraint requirements. Confirm the allocated vehicle’s usable tray dimensions and payload for the intended operating conditions before finalising the hire.

What project specifications should I confirm before hiring?

Share the project’s vehicle specification, location and hire dates, including any mine specification, IVMS or fatigue management requirements. Confirm the allocated vehicle’s ROPS and required project equipment, driver and operator requirements, and mobilisation arrangements with CST Hire.
