What is a fitters truck used for?
A fitters truck carries tools, parts and workshop equipment to the machinery being maintained. Typical tasks include inspections, scheduled maintenance and repair support for equipment on construction and infrastructure projects. The fit-out should match the work your maintenance crew needs to perform.
Does the fitters truck have a small crane?
The current CST Hire data sheet lists a small rear-mounted crane. Tell the team what you need to lift, the component weight and the required reach. Confirm the crane fitted to the allocated truck and its load chart before planning a lift; this page does not specify a lifting capacity.
Can I request a compressor?
Yes. Include a compressor in your requirements when enquiring. Specify the tools you intend to run and their air-flow and pressure requirements so CST Hire can confirm a suitable setup. Compressor model, output and inclusion need to be confirmed for the allocated vehicle.
What mine or project specification options are available?
The data sheet lists project specification, available mine specification and available rollover protection. IVMS and a driver fatigue management system are listed on request. Send your site’s vehicle specification to CST Hire so the required equipment and documentation can be checked for the allocated truck.
How much can the truck carry?
The published gross vehicle mass is 7,500 kg. GVM is the total permitted vehicle mass, not the payload. The remaining carrying capacity depends on the actual truck, fitted equipment, occupants and load. Ask CST Hire to confirm the allocated vehicle’s payload and usable tray space for your tools and parts.

Provide your project location, start date, hire period, access conditions and the work your fitter will perform.
